No Bikinis, No Burkas, No Problem? 'Miss World' Competition Covers Up
The Miss World pageant is covering up, announcing its decision to remove bikinis from their competition so as not to offend Muslims in Indonesia. Business tycoon and owner of the Miss Universe pageant Donald Trump reacted on Fox News, saying he "can guarantee" viewers they'll never see a Trump pageant sans bikinis.
"I own Miss Universe, so I'm actually very happy about [the decision], because if they don't have bikinis, their ratings are going to go right down the tubes."
So what would he do if he were faced with this situation? Just don't include the countries where such an event would be an issue, he said.
"Probably, you shouldn't be there ... I mean, I think we have 18 other [countries] who want to have the Miss Universe contest," he said.
Trump joked about the potential for a "best burka" component to the televised competition.
"With the way the world's going, maybe that'll be next. Wouldn't that be beautiful?"
