Fire units are on the scene of a train derailment in Rosedale, Maryland that occurred Tuesday afternoon. There are no preliminary reports of injuries at the site, where officials say a cargo train was ablaze with a fire and three cars could be seen sent off the tracks. Several buildings reportedly collapsed at the site. Stay tuned for more information - details will be added as we get them.

Update, 7:05p ET: The truck driver is in serious but stable condition.


Update, 3:45p ET: Nearby areas may have to be evacuated as the chemicals burn. It's still unclear what the train was carrying or whether anyone was inside the buildings that collapsed.

Update, 3:12p ET: Total Traffic Network reporter Rob Base said on Studio B that in addition to the train derailment, a truck was also hit. The truck driver was reportedly trapped inside. Base said the truck appears to be overturned and sitting parallel to the train.

Update, 3:05p ET: Video above shows a massive fire that has broken out after a freight train derailed and exploded in Baltimore County, Maryland. Trace Gallagher reports that nearby buildings suffered severe damage and possibly collapsed. It’s unclear what kind of cargo the train was carrying.
