Camel Attack Leaves Elderly Man Hospitalized
A camel attack in California left one elderly man hospitalized.
The camel escaped from a Palmdale animal sanctuary and ran to a property that's near the highway. A 72-year-old man attempted to corral the camel, but it bit, kicked and stomped on him.
The man’s daughter, Skylar Dossenbach, said other animals, including buffalo, have escaped from that sanctuary in the past. “My dad went out and tried to catch him. And it ran my dad over and he's in the hospital,” she said.
Animal control officers took the camel to an animal care center.
It’s unclear how the camel escaped. The owner did not have a permit and now faces several charges.
