A nine-year-old boy has been honored as a hero in southern California after his call to 911 saved the life of his three-year-old sister.

Jaequon Santos dialed for help when his sister started to choke on a grape at their home in South Pasadena. When police arrived, the girl was unconscious and struggling to breathe. Neither the cops nor paramedics could dislodge the grape.

The girl was rushed to the hospital where the grape was successfully dislodged. She did not suffer any permanent damage
