‘Science Is Not That Easily Settled’: Krauthammer Talks Mammogram Study, ObamaCare Mandate
A controversial study has been released about the benefits of annual mammograms.
The study, published in Canada, suggests that the test may lead to unnecessary treatments and may not reduce cancer deaths. Critics say the study is deeply flawed.
Charles Krauthammer told Megyn Kelly that he is impressed with the study’s rigor, noting that 90,000 women were included in the study over 25 years and were given the “scientific gold standard.”
Krauthammer noted that ObamaCare mandates that every health care plan must include free mammograms. “Given the uncertainty about this … are we gonna rethink this or is this gonna remain part of the requirement for any health care plan?” he asked.
“I’m always struck by the fact that we make these regulations on the basis of what we think is settled science, and science is not that easily settled.”
