Obama Urges Opening of New Markets to Goods Stamped ‘Made in the USA’
In tonight’s State of the Union address, President Obama called on lawmakers to help entrepreneurs and small business owners.
He said his administration has made more loans to small business owners to-date than any other, and said that new trade partnerships with Europe and Asia-Pacific will help those businesses create even more jobs.
According to Obama, 98 percent of the nation's exporters are small businesses.
“We need to work together on tools like bipartisan trade promotion authority to protect our workers, protect our environment, and open new markets to new goods stamped ‘Made in the USA,’” Obama said. “China and Europe aren’t standing on the sidelines. Neither should we.”
