American Eagle’s lingerie line Aerie is launching a new campaign featuring models who haven’t been airbrushed in hopes of promoting realistic beauty standards.

The models are beautiful, young and thin, but they’re also freckled, scarred and tattooed.

Gretchen Carlson Goes Makeup-Free in Segment on Empowering Young Girls

Supermodel Emme joined Gretchen Carlson today on The Real Story to talk about the ads.

“It’s a huge statement for young girls to see images of beauty that, yes, have freckles, yes, have a fold, yes, are real, and they’re beautiful, they’re images to look up to,” Emme said. “And it’s not the unrealistic, pre-pubescent standard of ultra, ultra thin, either.”

Emme and Gretchen also discussed Lena Dunham’s Vogue ad, which was touched up. Jezebel bought the un-retouched photos for $10,000.
