Israeli security forces say they have broken up a terrorist plot to attack the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv and the Jerusalem Convention Center.

Terrorists allegedly plotted to send three suicide bombers to the Jerusalem Convention Center, then to send a truck bomb and two suicide bombers to the U.S. Embassy.

The terrorists were allegedly communicating with their handler via Facebook and Skype. The handler reportedly went by the name Arib al-Sham, which means “the outstanding one from Syria,” and was heavily connected to the al Qaeda group in Syria.

U.S. officials said they couldn’t independently verify the report but that they do believe this was a legitimate threat.
