Is New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, a Democrat, trying to push conservatives out of the state?

Hannity to Cuomo: 'I'm Getting Out of New York'

In a radio interview, Gov. Cuomo stated what he believes to be the difference between moderate and extreme conservative Republicans. “Who are they? Are they these extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault weapon, anti-gays? Is that who they are? Because if that’s who they are and if they are the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are.”

This morning on Fox and Friends Weekend, Peter Johnson Jr. called the remarks “surprising” for a governor who prides himself on being inclusive. “When you scandalize and demonize an entire group of people, and then kind of misstate what their beliefs are – I wasn’t aware that opposition to same-sex marriage was the same as being anti-gay; […] when you say that as a Catholic you have problems with abortion and that you’re not welcome in this state, that sends a message to people that does harm.”

Johnson predicted that Gov. Cuomo will have to apologize for his comments.
