Study: Heavy Drinking Speeds Up Memory Loss in Middle-Aged Men
Researchers have found that heavy drinking in middle-aged men speeds up memory loss.
According to the research, drinking more than two-and-a-half drinks per day could speed up memory loss by as much as six years. However, researchers found no difference in cognitive function between men who drank one drink per day and men who didn’t drink at all.
Researchers also found that middle-aged women who abstained from alcohol actually suffered greater memory loss than women who drank moderately.
