Peters: Obama's Retreat From Iraq Is the Top Blunder of His Admin
White House Press Secretary Jay Carney announced Monday afternoon that the United States will provide armed drones to Iraq.
The news comes after Secretary of State John Kerry vowed to help Iraq without boots on the ground after Al Qaeda-linked militants took over two key Iraqi cities.
In 2012, President Obama was still telling Americans that “Al Qaeda is on the path to defeat.”
Today on Real Story, Lt. Col. Ralph Peters declared that the president “blew it” when it comes to his foreign policy.
He said, "Future historians will look back and declare that Obama's 'run for the doors, retreat from Iraq’ is politically driven to please the base, [and his] precipitous withdrawal will be regarded as the top foreign policy blunder of his administration."
“Look at a map! Iraq matters. It’s strategically located,” Peters told Gretchen Carlson. “Afghanistan’s a worthless piece of dirt. What would I do? Kill Al Qaeda wherever I could find them. Not just drones. I would send a manned aircraft to destroy any concentration we can find of Al Qaeda in Iraq or Syria.”
