"This is a clear failure of leadership,” Rep. King said. “And if he feels so strongly about it and if he doesn’t want to take the action himself, then he should call us back into session tomorrow.”
Congress is scheduled to return from vacation on September 9th. Earlier on Fox News Sunday, Secretary of State John Kerry confirmed that sarin gas was found in the hair and blood samples of first responders in Syria.
Senator James Inhofe (R-OK), a ranking member of the Armed Services Committee, told Chris Wallace that he does not believe Congress will approve taking military action.
Rep. King intends to vote ‘yes,’ but agreed with Sen. Inhofe, adding, “I’m hoping by the time next week comes around, and hopefully the president can make his case, that he will be able to get a majority of the House of Representatives. Right now, it will be very difficult.”
