The email chain, which included top White House officials Denis McDonough, John Brennan, and Ben Rhodes, was dated Sept. 27-28, 2012 and was in reference to a report by Fox News' Chief Intelligence Correspondent Catherine Herridge.

President Obama announced the resignation of National Security Adviser Tom Donilon, who spent more than four years at the National Security Council. Donilon will leave his post in early July and will be succeeded by Ambassador Susan Rice. The president also announced that he will nominate Samantha Power to succeed Rice as Ambassador to the U.N.
