Israeli Ambassador: The Days of 'Israel-Bashing' at the UN Are Over

Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon said the days of diplomats at the United Nations "bashing" his home country are "over" now that Washington has taken a hard line in Jerusalem's defense.
Danon thanked U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley for vetoing a resolution condemning the Jewish State, one year after Obama-era Ambassador Samantha Power abstained from a similar vote.
"We saw today a friendship, between Prime Minister [Bibi] Netanyahu and President Trump," Danon said of the two men's meeting at the White House.Article continues below
Danon said the "days of [Israel] bashing at the U.N. are over."
He added that Israel is "grateful" for Trump's decision to move the American embassy from Tel Aviv to the formal capital of Jerusalem - over the objections of Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian Authority.
Netanyahu said in his meeting with Trump that the two nations share common enemies like Iran, and common challenges.
