Gutfeld: Obama Compares Trump to Hitler
Greg Gutfeld criticized former President Barack Obama for making a comparison between President Trump's election and the transition of Germany from the Weimar Republic to the Third Reich.
Speaking to the Economic Club of Chicago, Obama said that America must "tend to this garden of democracy or else things could fall apart quickly.
"That's what happened in Germany in the 1930s which, despite the democracy of the Weimar Republic and centuries of high-level cultural and scientific achievements, [Adolf] Hitler rose to dominate," Obama said.
"Sixty million people died, so you've got to pay attention - and vote," he said.
Gutfeld pointed to the irony of Obama making the comments only hours before Trump declared Jerusalem to be the capital of Israel.Article continues below
"That makes Trump a pretty weak Nazi," he said.
Gutfeld added that Trump has also overseen the "decimation" of ISIS, which he called the "worst group of fascists since the Nazis."
On Obama's comment that voters should "pay attention," Gutfeld pointed to the 2008 election of an "inexperienced" senator from Illinois who later governed with a "pen and a phone."
"See how easy this stupid little game is," he said of people who make drastic comparisons to denigrate political foes.
