Sean Hannity said Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation may be compromised following revelations about an FBI operative at the center of multiple probes and controversies dogging the Trump administration.
Peter Strzok was fired by Mueller in August after an internal probe found he exchanged anti-Trump, pro-Hillary Clinton texts with a colleague.
Fox News' James Rosen reported that Strzok worked on the Hillary Clinton email investigation and is seen as a key figure in the chain of events when the bureau, in 2016, received the infamous anti-Trump "dossier" and launched a counterintelligence investigation into Russian meddling in the election.
"This guy's abusively biased. We have been saying for months that this is a political witch hunt," Hannity said. "This new information about Peter Strzok is a smoking gun."Article continues below
He said there are many unanswered questions, such as: How deeply was Strzok involved in Mueller's investigation? Where else could he have influenced and compromised the investigation?
Hannity added that there are red flags about other members of Mueller's team, including political donations to Democrats.
"This stinks to high heaven," he said. "Why in God's name would Robert Mueller put this abusively biased team together of unethical, political crusaders who have an agenda that we can now prove? Why are they involved in this investigation? It's been one giant pattern of bias and abuse of power."
