A gunman opened fire as country music singer Jason Aldean performed on stage at the Route 91 Harvest country music festival in Las Vegas late Sunday night.
At least 50 people were killed and more than 400 others were injured in the deadliest mass shooting in modern United States history. The suspect, who was killed by authorities, has been identified as 64-year-old Stephen Paddock.
Fox News' Adam Housley spoke to several witnesses who described the chaos at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.
One woman was working at a vendor booth when the shooting started. She initially thought it was fireworks, but quickly realized they were gunshots. She and her coworkers hid inside a Budweiser truck.
"It just didn't stop, like 30 minutes," she said. "It was mass chaos. You couldn't tell the difference between people that knew what was going on and people that were adding more confusion. So we didn't know what to do. We just stayed there for about a half-hour."Article continues below
Another woman described a scene of total chaos, with people hysterically screaming and running.
"There was no direction. We didn't know where to go, where to run," she said.
