The panel on "The Five" reacted to MSNBC pundit Donald Deutsch who said that President Donald Trump would attempt a military coup to keep power if he is defeated in 2020.

"It would be stunning what we would see," Deutsch, a longtime New York City advertising executive, said.

Greg Gutfeld said that as he watched Deutsch make the remarks to former Rep. Joe Scarborough (R-Fla.) on the latter's MSNBC program, he could see Deutsch "going to a place where he was semi-not-serious."

Gutfeld said that when Deutsch appeared to have the "opportunity to say he was joking," he deferred and continued with his explanation.

Kennedy said Deutsch instead seemed to appear ignorant about how the executive branch works.

"Donny Deutsch obviously doesn't know anything about politics," she said, noting that Deutsch said Trump could be "disqualified" before 2020 -- which is not a legal definition.

She said the left makes fun of far-right conservatives "talking about the deep state" but is apparently fine with discussing possible coups and the like by an authoritarian Trump.

"They conflate 'what if' with 'what is' and they paint these fantasies," she said. "They're talking about Matthew Whitaker as if he's already punched Robert Mueller in the face."
