White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said President Trump "closed the deal" for Indiana businessman Mike Braun, who Fox News projects to unseat Democratic Sen. Joe Donnelly on Tuesday.

"This was a candidate that a lot of people projected to lose," Sanders said.

"The president went in and closed the deal for Mike Braun last night," she said.

Sanders said Trump successfully unified the party in Indiana and that Braun's and the president's own hard work "paid off."

She said that the Republicans who "embraced" Trump are performing uniquely well.

"He's had unprecedented success," Sanders said of Trump's actions over the last two years.
