The Five on New Mueller Poll: 'Tying the Justice System to an Election is a Terrible Idea'
The panel on "The Five" reacted to a new poll showing a majority of voters want Robert Mueller's probe into President Trump and Russia to be completed before Election Day 2018.
The CNN poll showed 72 percent of Republicans, 57 percent of Democrats and 69 percent of independents wanted such an outcome.
George "Tyrus" Murdoch said he has "complete faith in Mueller" to do a thorough job, and that if Trump is not guilty of a crime, the ex-FBI director will conclude such.
"There'll be a lot of explosions... and CNN will lose their minds, [but Mueller] is going to do the right thing," Tyrus said.
He said that the ongoing saga of ex-Trump confidante Omarosa Manigault Newman shows that Trump is not immune from making bad decisions.
Dana Perino said that it is never a good idea to tie our "justice system to any election."
Jesse Watters said he has confidence Trump did nothing wrong. But, he added that Mueller reportedly is now looking into former Trump adviser Roger Stone, a onetime consultant at the former Washington lobbying firm Black, Manafort & Stone.
Juan Williams said Trump's behavior "makes me [think] that they know something." He added that Trump is trying to "undermine [Attorney General] Jeff Sessions and [Deputy Attorney General] Rod Rosenstein."
