Greg Gutfeld reacted to New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman, urging the media to keep covering "every rally, every word and every reaction" of President Trump.

Friedman said the "blanket coverage" of Trump "hurts him" and that Republicans will see Trump for who he really is and be discouraged from voting for him.

"What a great idea," Gutfeld said. "Remember what happened last time the media covered every word... of Donald Trump?"

Gutfeld said the media helped elect Trump by giving him wall to wall coverage, thinking Hillary Clinton then would "have it in the bag" in the general election.

He said Fox News regularly challenged candidate Trump through its choice of bipartisan commentators and guests, adding the at the time, MSNBC's morning show should have been called "The Morning Trump."
