At a rally in support of Florida gubernatorial candidate Ron DeSantis, President Donald Trump ripped what he called a lack of sufficient voter ID laws.

Trump said many Americans need a picture ID to make purchases among other things, but not at the polls.

"It's crazy," he said.

"In this country, the only time you don't need [an ID] is when you want to vote..." he said. "But we're turning it around."

Trump also praised DeSantis, a Palm Coast Republican congressman looking to replace term-limited Gov. Rick Scott (R).

Scott was also endorsed by Trump in his bid to defeat Sen. Bill Nelson (D-Fla.).

Trump said he spends a lot of time in Florida and only sees Nelson when it is election season.

Later this week, Trump is scheduled to hold another rally in Luzerne County, Pa., in support of Rep. Lou Barletta (R-Pa.), who is seeking to unseat Sen. Bob Casey Jr. (D-Pa.).
