White House Chief of Staff John Kelly was captured in a photo helping to fix a tangled American flag at President Trump's golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey.

Dan Scavino Jr., the director of social media for the White House, tweeted out the picture Sunday with the quote, "Once a Marine, always a Marine."

Kelly is a retired Marine Corps general who enlisted in 1970.

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee responded to the photo, saying that Kelly is a hero in his eyes.

Kelly replaced Reince Priebus as White House chief of staff last July, and also briefly served as the Secretary of Homeland Security earlier in 2017.

His son, Marine 1st Lt. Robert Michael Kelly, was killed in Afghanistan while on a combat patrol in Nov. 2010.
