Herman Cain said that the transcripts of a June 2016 meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a Russian lawyer at Trump Tower have no substance.

The Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday released more than 1,800 pages of transcripts pertaining to their hearings on the meeting.

"This is gonna turn out to be another big nothing-burger with a lot of speculation," said Cain, a former Republican presidential candidate.

In testimony to the Senate committee, the people involved in the meeting largely downplayed its significance and said Hillary Clinton was hardly discussed.

Katie Pavlich added on "Outnumbered" that she believes the meeting was more about infiltrating the Trump campaign.

She noted that Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson had met with the lawyer, Natalia Veselnitskaya, before and after her meeting with Trump Jr.

"This was about [Veselnitskaya] going into Trump Tower and trying to get dirt on the Trump campaign," she said.

Trump Jr. told the Senate Judiciary Committee that he didn't tell his father about the meeting, although the White House has said President Trump was involved in drafting an initial statement about it.

"I wouldn't have wasted his time with it," Trump Jr. said.
