Bongino: It's Becoming 'More and More Dangerous' for Law Enforcement
Former Secret Service agent and NYPD officer Dan Bongino said cops are increasingly under attack in the United States.
22 law enforcement officers have been killed so far in 2018, including two sheriff’s deputies who were ambushed at a restaurant in Trenton, Florida, on Thursday.
"I have a ton of respect for people who do all kinds of jobs, don't get me wrong. But what kind of job do you go to work every day with the possibility that that's it, that this is the last breath you're going to take is on your eight-hour shift today?" Bongino said on "The Story" on Friday. "And that's what police officers do every day. And it's getting more and more dangerous for them."
Also this week, reports emerged that violent gang MS-13 has directed its members to “take out a cop” on Long Island.
"These are sociopaths, these are straight-up, hardened killers. There's no empathy, there's no sympathy, there's no humanity," Bongino said.
He added that terrorist organizations and radical political groups have also targeted and called for violence against cops.
He said social media gives these people an easy platform to express radical, violent ideas, which has contributed to a "growingly dangerous environment for cops."
