Mark Levin: The 'Porn-ification of the Media' Creates Drive for Salacious Anti-Trump Headlines

Mark Levin Rips 'Bad Cops' Comey and McCabe: 'They Politicized the FBI'

"Life, Liberty & Levin" host Mark Levin joined Jesse Watters on "Watters World" to discuss how President Barack Obama was apparently unaware of the "unmasking" of Trump officials under surveillance.

The two Philadelphia natives agreed that several Obama-era officials, like former FBI Director Jim Comey, counter-intel chief Peter Strzok and former Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) had their "fingerprints all over" the endeavor to spy on or investigate Trump campaign officials.

Levin, who worked in the Justice Department under President Ronald Reagan, said he would prefer that his longtime friend Attorney General Jeff Sessions appoint a second special counsel to look into the matter.

He said that while Special Counsel Robert Mueller is investigating to find "excuses for why [his probe] exists", there may be actual wrongdoing in the case of Obama officials investigating Trump's team.

He said there were "bad cops" at the top ranks of the FBI "who have besmirched this agency" through their alleged political actions in that regard.

"You have a FISA court application [and] extensions of the FISA court application, the director of the FBI involved... You have the national security adviser [Susan Rice] unmasking individuals," Levin said.

"How in the hell is it possible if the only person on the face of the earth who doesn’t know about this is Barack Obama?" Levin continued.

Watters remarked Obama was always prided as "the smartest man in the room" unless something untoward was reported about his administration, wherein he would say he found out about it through the press.

Watters added that there are allegations that Reid, the top Senate Democrat at the time, helped apply pressure to move forward with the Trump probe after being approached by CIA Director John Brennan.

Levin invited the audience to tune in Sunday evening when he and his former boss, Attorney General Edwin Meese, will discuss a wide range of pressing topics including the White House effort to investigate Trump during the 2016 election.

Meese will join Levin on "Life, Liberty & Levin" at 10 PM ET on Sunday April 1.
