The father of a teen killed by an illegal immigrant blasted his state's governor for pardoning five immigrants convicted of crimes.

California Governor Jerry Brown (D) pardoned five ex-convicts facing possible deportation for past offenses. They were part of a pardon for 56 convicted felons, two of whom were members of families that fled the Khmer Rouge regime in Cambodia four decades ago.

Jamiel Shaw Sr., whose son Jamiel Jr. was killed in 2008 by an illegal immigrant convicted of three separate gun charges, said Brown is showing he doesn't care about American citizens.

Shaw said Brown is more interest in "getting back at [President] Trump" for criticizing Sacramento's lax immigration policies.

Trump criticized Brown on Twitter, invoking the "Governor Moonbeam" nickname Brown was given during his previous tenure as governor in the 1970s.

"He loves illegal aliens," Shaw said of Brown, saying that Brown and State Attorney General Xavier Becerra (D) are willing to "put Americans in danger just for some votes."

Shaw also faulted Sens. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) for supporting the policy.

"They're all in the tank for illegals," he said of many California politicians.
