'We've Gone Totally Off the Rails': Ingraham Rips Oakland Mayor for Warning About ICE Raids
The sanctuary city debate is back in the spotlight after the mayor of Oakland, California, warned illegal immigrants that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) could soon be conducting raids in the area.
Libby Schaaf (D) shared the warning — which she said she “learned from multiple credible sources” — in a press release on Saturday, later claiming it was her "ethical obligation" to pass along the information.

On "The Ingraham Angle" Monday night, Laura Ingraham pointed out that ICE raids target specific individuals who have committed crimes other than being in the U.S. illegally, so for Schaaf to claim that she's somehow making her city safer is "ridiculous."
"Why are we protecting the criminals now?" Ingraham asked. "You have criminals who are doing real damage and real harm to both legal immigrants and American citizens."
Former ICE agent Claude Arnold agreed that immigration officials are not going after people indiscriminately, and almost all the targets of ICE raids are individuals with serious criminal convictions.
"We're talking rapists, child molesters, drug dealers, gang bangers," Arnold said, pointing out that ICE doesn't have the time, resources or inclination to go after non-criminal illegal aliens.
"For this mayor to get up there on her high horse ... that might work in some parts of northern California and other communities, but most Americans see this and they think we've gone totally off the rails," Ingraham said. "So now you exist to defend criminal aliens, not the people in those communities."
