'We Have to Change That': Trump Slams 'Stone-Cold' Dems for Not Applauding Jobs for Minorities
President Trump called out Democrats for sitting "stone-faced" during his State of the Union address, particularly during the portion when he touted rising wages.
He said he expected some applause from Democrats for unemployment among Hispanics and African-Americans dropping to record lows.
"That's something very special. When I made that statement the other night, there was zero movement from the Democrats. They sat there stone-cold, no smile, no applause. You would have thought on that one, they would have at least clapped a little bit. Perhaps they'd rather see us not do well than see our country do great," he said.
Speaking to lawmakers at the GOP policy retreat in West Virginia, Trump said that attitude is "not good" and must be changed.
He went on to House Minority Leader call out Nancy Pelosi denigrating the bonuses that companies have handed out to workers following the Republicans' tax cuts.
Trump said Pelosi's comment reminded him of Hillary Clinton's insult to his supporters as being "deplorables."
