New Petition Launched to Posthumously Award Ronald Reagan an Oscar
President Ronald Reagan's former press secretary is leading a charge to posthumously award the actor an honorary Oscar.
Mark Weinberg, author of "Movie Night with the Reagans," is circulating a petition asking the Academy to honor the only one of its members in history to reach the White House.
Weinberg said on "The Story" that Reagan privately expressed his "hurt" about never being credited with the achievement after his term ended in 1989.
"It hurt him that they snubbed him," he said.
Weinberg said Hollywood always preaches diversity.
"How about some diversity in political philosophy?" he asked.
