'Americans Will See Through All of This': Tomi Lahren Takes on Possible Shutdown

Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel is once again using his huge platform to blast Republicans, this time accusing them of "using kids' lives as bargaining chips."

Kimmel, who joined the fight against the Republicans' health care proposals last year, went after the GOP this week for making funding for the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) part of the government funding bill

The host of "Michelle Malkin Investigates" on CRTV questioned why Kimmel is again reciting Democrats' "talking points." She noted that he previously consulted with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer's office during the health care battle.

"Is Chuck Schumer now the communications director for Jimmy Kimmel? ... The idea that Jimmy Kimmel is now essentially the political pope of America is ridiculous," she said, arguing that the cost of CHIP has ballooned to be "so far apart from the initial purpose of the program."

Kimmel's son Billy was born last year with heart defects and required two surgeries. The experience led the comedian to become more vocal about the health care system.

"My daughter has chronic illnesses, but that doesn't confer me with absolute moral authority to dictate what our health policies should be," Malkin said.
