Brit Hume: Doug Jones' Win Could Have Effect on 'Standing of Steve Bannon'
Brit Hume reacted to Doug Jones' projected win in Alabama.
Hume said the Democrat's projected victory could have ramifications for the political standing of Breitbart executive Steve Bannon.
"He really did go all in for Roy Moore," Hume said, calling Alabama a state where "it's very hard for a Republican to lose."
"It remains to be seen how this will affect the standing of Steve Bannon," he said, calling the former aide a "big player outside the White House."
Bannon's consistent support for Moore fell short as Fox News projected a Jones victory late Tuesday.
Hume said the last elected Democratic senator from Alabama, Howell Heflin, was "pretty conservative on a lot of issues," compared to the liberal Jones.
Sitting senior Sen. Richard Shelby (R-Ala.) was first elected as a Democrat but switched parties in the mid-1990s and has been a reliable vote for the conservative membership.
