Bernie Sanders had a bleak Thanksgiving message for his supporters.
"I don't have to tell anybody that from a political point of view this has been a horrendous year," the Vermont senator said in a video message shared on his Twitter account Thursday.
I wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving. This has been a tough year, but we can move forward in a direction based on generosity and love. pic.twitter.com/LQs1MZbOHD

"It appears that almost every day there is something coming out of the White House that is embarrassing, that is destructive, that is horrific."
Sanders charged the president with trying to divide Americans based on the color of their skin, their religion, and their sexual orientation.
The good news, though, is that Americans are beginning to "catch on" to the "disaster" that is the Trump presidency, Sanders said, referencing Democrats' recent electoral victories. Enjoy the holiday, he said, and then continue to resist Trump.
Attacks against trans people are part of a bigotry which has got to end. We must work together until hatred and discrimination truly have no place in our society. #TDOR

Sanders was most recently in the news after new revelations that Democratic operatives favored Hillary Clinton in the primary and worked to make her the party's presidential nominee.
