"Morning Joe" co-host Willie Geist said that if Judge Roy Moore (R-Ala.) is successful in taking Attorney General Jeff Sessions' former Senate seat, the GOP will be "the party of a pedophile."

Geist said Republicans' "moral code" should make them take a strong stand against Moore in the wake of allegations against him that he engaged in sexual misconduct with young women as a 30-year-old.

One of the women who accused Moore said she was 14 at the time of the alleged incident.

He also addressed President Trump saying that he too would be "saddled with" the shame that he "stood up and took the side of an accused pedophile."

"You win this Senate seat for Roy Moore, it's a pyrrhic victory," Geist said.

Before departing for Mar-a-Lago in Florida, Trump spoke to the press about Moore but did not directly condemn his candidacy.
