Ainsley Earhardt's new book is out today, and she celebrated by inviting her father, Wayne, and her daughter, Hayden, on "Fox & Friends" this morning.
In "Through Your Eyes: My Child's Gift to Me," Ainsley reflects on her experiences as a mother and viewing the wonders of the world through a child’s eyes.
"Through the book, we talk about all the things that Hayden has taught me," Ainsley said, explaining that it was eye-opening to witness her daughter's excitement when she first saw a dog or rain, things that many of us take for granted.
"She loves the sprinklers in the park and loves to swing, just the simple things," she said.
Ainsley shared a brief excerpt from the book, which captures the moment Hayden made her realize the gift of everyday joys and miracles.
The moment we met
I wrote down a list
Of what we would do
Of what not to miss
We'd soar through the skies
On a super fast plane
Speed past snowy hills
On a passenger train
But on the trip to the park
You opened my eyes
Taught me life is a gift
Every day a surprise
"You have all these expectations and all these things you want for your kids, and then you realize all you really want is for them to be happy," Ainsley said.
She revealed that her father worked several jobs to put his three children through college, and that's one reason why she's donating money from the book to Folds of Honor, a non-profit that provides educational scholarships to the children and spouses of fallen and disabled service members.
"My goal was to send her to college," Ainsley said of Hayden. "But now we're sending other kids to college."
