President Donald Trump praised the successful efforts to secure the release of an American woman who had been held captive by a Taliban-linked group since 2012.
Caitlan Coleman, 32, her Canadian husband and their three young children were freed in a "negotiated release," an official told Fox News on Thursday. Coleman and Josh Boyle were abducted while traveling in Afghanistan when she was seven months pregnant.
The family was being held by the Haqqani network, a terror organization active along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.
Trump praised the cooperation from the Pakistani government, saying "I believe they're starting to respect the United States again."
"It's very important. Right now I think a lot of countries are starting to respect the United States of America once again," he said before moving onto signing an executive order on health care.
