Mike Huckabee said the press' fixation with President Trump and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is pointless, as the story is "a lot of fake news."

Upon reports that their relationship has become strained in light of alleged "moron" comments and an apparent joke about dueling IQ tests, Huckabee said Americans should ignore the narrative.

"The cabinet doesn't pick the president, the president picks the cabinet," Huckabee said, adding that if Tillerson didn't want to be in the White House, he would have left already.

He said that both men are "alpha males" who likely disagree but can get past differences easily.

Huckabee said that too much news about Trump comes from unnamed sources that the Tillerson narrative shouldn't be taken seriously.

He said the reported feud is simply "a lot of fake news."
