Bongino on 'Dreamers' Confronting Pelosi: 'A Dumb Strategy All Around'
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi was confronted at a press conference in San Francisco on Monday by protesters who were furious at her for striking a tentative deal with President Trump over the DACA program.
The protesters called Pelosi a liar and demanded a clean DACA bill, which extends legal protections to young undocumented immigrants.
"We undocumented youth demand a clean bill... We undocumented youth will not be a bargaining chip for Trump," the protesters shouted, according to KCBS.
On "Fox & Friends" this morning, Dan Bongino said Pelosi and Democrats brought this on themselves.
"They're the ones who created this problem. They are the ones who opened the door for people who came here illegally into the country to get citizenship and to get work permits, and then to give that benefit to the children of people who came here illegally," Bongino, a former Secret Service agent and NYPD officer, said.
As for the pro-DACA protesters, Bongino said this has to be the "dumbest political strategy" of all time.
"You have an ally in Nancy Pelosi, and you totally alienate her and potentially the rest of your Democrat friends by doing this," Bongino said. "It's just silly."
He pointed out that Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer met with President Trump in an effort to strike a deal on the "Dreamers" behalf, and now "Dreamers" and DACA-supporting protesters are turning on them.
"It's just ridiculous," Bongino said. "Just a dumb strategy all around."
