Gold Star parents Kaye Jordan and Mike Perich spent the summer biking thousands of miles across the United States as a tribute to their two fallen sons.

Jordan’s son Austin, 19, died in Afghanistan, and Perich’s son Michael, 25, in southeast Asia, both killed in the War on Terror.

Jordan showed a necklace with a picture of her son that she wears every day.

"He helped me up lots of hills and climbs on this journey," she told "Fox & Friends."

"Just loved our country. He really loved our country," Perich remembered about his son.

The two started in San Diego on June 10 and stopped to visit other Gold Star families along the way.

“We met over 23 Gold Star families. We want to make sure our Gold Star families are OK, because our kids have paid the ultimate sacrifice,” Jordan said.

"It's really easy to be around another Gold Star family cause people who haven't lost, they don't understand," the mom said.

The parents capped their trip with a special service at the World Trade Center Memorial with their families.
