Greg Gutfeld remarked how much Hurricane Harvey relief efforts had calmed down storms in politics.

"We saw a Category 6 downpour of compassionate action," Gutfeld said on "The Five" Thursday. "Anyone still bickering over politics appeared petty."

Cooperation took the spotlight, Gutfeld pointed out, especially when President Trump made a surprise deal with Democratic leaders.

President Trump took GOP leaders by surprise Wednesday when he endorsed a budget bill by Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer that included hurricane relief funding.

"That America first stuff? What if he means it?" Gutfeld asked. "Then party line deviations are forgivable."

"The tiffs can come later when everyone is safe and dry."
