New York's Finest came together on Tuesday to make the first day of school extra special for the son of Sgt. Paul Tuozzolo, who was killed in the line of duty last year.

The 43rd Precinct of the NYPD shared the emotional moments on social media, as dozens of officers arrived at the Long Island house.

Sgt. Tuozzolo's son Austin was then escorted by the officers to the school bus for his first day of kindergarten. The officers gathered around and waved to Austin as he boarded.

The 19-year NYPD veteran was shot and killed in Nov. 2016 when a suspect opened fire from his vehicle in the Bronx. The 41-year-old officer left behind a wife and two sons.
