Political analyst Amy Holmes gave kudos to Melania Trump for doubling down after she was criticized for wearing sky-high stilettos on her way to visit Hurricane Harvey victims.

The first lady ignored the criticism and wore tall snakeskin heels as she boarded Air Force One to visit the scene of the devastation in Texas a second time.

"I think she demonstrated why she is Mrs. Trump, and that she's not going to be cowed or bullied by the nattering nabobs," the Rasmussen Reports analyst said.

Vogue magazine headlined a piece, "Melania Trump's Hurricane Stilettos and the White House's Continual Failure to Understand Optics."

"I was startled to find out that Vogue even has words ... I thought it was just a magazine with pictures," Holmes quipped.

Twitter also erupted over the first lady's shoe choice.

"When it comes to women we can be our own worst critics and most vicious critics," Holmes said. "If you don't go along with a certain political line ... women on the other side of the aisle are very happy to take shots."
