Late night comic Trevor Noah made fun of critics who slammed First Lady Melania Trump for wearing stilettos as she boarded Air Force One for Texas.
"People weren't talking about the nuclear missile that Kim Jung Un tested because Melania Trump apparently did something much worse," the star of "The Daily Show" began.
"Here's my thing. I don't know why anyone should care what anyone wears when they're on their way to help people," Noah continued.
"Who cares? Look at the pope. You see how he dresses? All white with giant bling. He looks like he's going to a P. Diddy party," Noah said, referring to the rap artist Puff Daddy. His quip triggered chuckles from the audience.
Twitter erupted in mockery at the first lady even before she and President Trump touched down in Corpus Christi.
And here we have Melania Trump modeling what NOT to wear to a hurricane: 5-inch stilettos.
How out of touch can you be? pic.twitter.com/tZR8o3dYxY

God grant me the serenity not to comment on the shoes.

"She's getting a lot of flack for it. Online, predominantly, but it counts," Noah remarked.
Some defended the first lady's fashion choice.
I gotta believe Melania is going to change out of the stilettos on the plane. Those were just her "walking to Air Force One" shoes.

By the time the first couple disembarked in Texas three hours later, Mrs. Trump was in running shoes and a baseball cap.
