Dramatic video out of Houston shows two people being rescued from the catastrophic flooding that continues to devastate the state.

A traffic camera on the San Jacinto Bridge captured the two people standing on top of their pickup truck as the waters rise.

ABC 13 reported that they drove into the rising water in an attempt to escape the area, but they became trapped.

The camera recorded the dramatic moment when a boat with two rescuers approached the truck.

The stranded motorists were able to safely get in the boat, speeding away and abandoning their vehicle to the rising floodwaters.

According to Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo, more than 3,500 water rescues have taken place.
