Corey Lewandowski recommended Congress pass an emergency spending bill to repair the devastation in Houston from Hurricane Harvey.

President Trump would support such a bill to get the economy in the area up and running again, the former Trump campaign manager predicted on "Fox & Friends" Sunday.

"I think it would be important for him to get to Houston and to Texas to see this firsthand," Lewandowski said.

"Many people never moved back to Louisiana after Katrina," the former Trump official reminded.

However, the short term goal is to provide help for those devastated and bring law and order back with the help of the National Guard if necessary, Lewandowski said.

"Don't be a hero," Lewandowski urged, adding that local officials know what is best right now. "There is just too much chaos."
