Fiery 'Unlike You, I Like to Know the Facts First': Trump Scuffles With Reporters Over Charlottesville
Following a statement on his new infrastructure permitting plan, President Trump answered several questions from the press.
The press corps overwhelmingly asked Trump about his response to the violence in Charlottesville, Va.
"Why did you wait so long?" a female reporter called out.
Trump repeatedly found himself calling "excuse me" as he and the press often talked over each other.
Trump said his initial "all sides at fault" statement on Charlottesville was more than adequate because he did not know the full story as of Saturday afternoon.
"Unlike you, before I make a statement, I like to know the facts," he said.
"There's no way to make a correct statement that early," he said, adding that he did not know until later that former KKK leader David Duke attended the protests.
"People still don't know all of the facts," he said.
