Protesters assembling in front of President Trump's namesake tower were met with a large, organized NYPD presence, Adam Shapiro reported.

More than a dozen neon-clad NYPD officers stood in a closed-down Fifth Avenue, trying to keep those assembled from possibly getting out of hand.

Shapiro said police were routinely announcing warnings via megaphone, telling people to stay off the blacktop.

Lauren Simonetti reported traffic was already backing up outside Fox News on neighboring Sixth Avenue, as commuters tried to find alternative ways through Midtown Manhattan.

Trump is expected to return to Trump Tower later Monday, after making a pitstop in Washington, D.C. following the week at his New Jersey golf club.
