President Trump warned North Korea this afternoon about what will happen if the rogue regime attacks the U.S. or its allies.

"They should be very nervous. Things will happen to them like they never thought possible. [Kim Jong Un] has been pushing the world around for a very long time," said Trump, speaking alongside VP Pence at his golf course in New Jersey.

He also said that his earlier statement that Pyongyang would face "fire and fury" might not have been "tough enough."

Trump refused to comment when asked whether he would consider a preemptive strike. He said the American people should be "very comfortable" despite North Korea's threats.

Earlier today, a North Korean general said Trump's statements are angering "soldiers," calling President Trump "senile" and "bereft of reason."

Trump said he believes China can and will do more to rein in the hermit regime.

The president suggested he could change his stance toward China's trade imbalance with the U.S. if Beijing helps with North Korea.

He said he has "great respect" for China and Russia for signing onto new U.N. sanctions, but said the sanctions "probably" w on't bevery effective.
