Charles Krauthammer said Attorney General Jeff Sessions is a "dead man walking."

Krauthammer said that in recent days, Sessions has progressed from a "wounded" man walking to a "severely wounded man walking" and is now in dire straits.

He said President Trump cannot keep publicly embarrassing Sessions and expect him to stay on with the administration.

Krauthammer expected Sessions to either resign or be fired in due time, as Trump is frustrated with his recusal from the Russia probe.

However, Krauthammer said it would be politically injurious to get rid of Sessions, because the Alabamian is the glue that "held the [conservative] coalition" to Trump's bid.

"What sustains [Trump] is the power and loyalty of his base," Krauthammer said.
