McCain: No 'Participation Trophies' for GOP After Health Care Failure
"Outnumbered" welcomed back Meghan McCain today and she repeated her "Game of Thrones"-themed warning to Republicans after the failure to replace ObamaCare.
"Midterms are coming," McCain warned once again, calling out Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan as "toothless" leaders.
McCain returned to the couch after spending time in Arizona with her father, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) as he recuperates following surgery.
"My dad is doing very well, recovering and eating his favorite cheese enchiladas," she said, adding that the family made the senator watch "Game of Thrones" and he "he hated it."
"He found it boring," she said.
McCain said the "let ObamaCare fail" message from President Trump yesterday was "strange" and that there will be political "ramifications" for the failure.
She said there are no "participation trophies" when it comes to working on major legislation like this bill.
McCain said she fears that Democrats will take back the House in 2018 if the GOP continues to fail to pass major legislation despite controlling both branches and the White House.
Chris Stirewalt said the blame is going to fall overwhelmingly on Republicans because "people aren't stupid" and they know who controls Congress and the White House.
